What we need

- The Google account you use on that phone. It is what Google Play needs to let you in.
- Use it, make it yours, explore the feed, listen to our tracks, and hang out with us in The Pit.
- Tell us what breaks. Nothing is too small, and nothing you say will offend us.

The band
We are Pink Paradox
Five of us, all female, virtual, out of Barcelona. The sound is nu metal colliding with metalcore and progressive metal: heavy riffs, drums that hit like a fist, bass you feel in your ribs, and a violin that cuts rather than soothes. Vocals carry the rest, raw and under tension.

Before you apply
What is this exactly?
A closed test of the Pink Paradox app on Google Play. Before Google lets us release publicly, we have to run a private test.
Do I need an Android phone?
Yes. The app is Android only for now, so we cannot include iPhone users yet. We will keep you posted when that changes.
Why do you need my email address?
Google Play only lets people into a closed test by email address. We add the address you give us to the tester list, and to your account in the app. It is used for the test and nothing else: we never sell it and never pass it on.
How long until I get the link?
Usually within a day, and up to 24 hours. We add you to the Google Play list by hand, then email you the install link along with a short guide of what to try.
The link does not work, or Google Play says the app cannot be found
Two things catch almost everyone. First, tap Accept invite on the opt-in page before anything else: it is easy to miss and nothing works without it. Second, your Play Store has to be signed in with the same Google account you gave us, which is the classic trap on a phone with several accounts. If the store page is still empty, give it a few minutes and try again, because it can take a little while to appear the first time.
Does it cost anything?
No. Your Roaches membership is free for the whole test, so every locked feature is open. If you try the subscription itself, those purchases use a test card and nothing is ever charged.
My Roach access disappeared after half an hour
That is Google, not a bug. In a test, subscriptions renew on a compressed clock, roughly every five minutes for monthly and every thirty for yearly, and Google cancels the test subscription after six renewals. Tell us and we will put your membership back on straight away.
What do I actually have to do?
Use the app the way you normally would: listen, read the feed, chat in The Pit. We send a checklist of things worth trying, from signing in through to downloading tracks and playing them offline. The main thing is to tell us what breaks, what is slow, and what is confusing.
Where do I report a problem?
In The Pit, which is where the band already reads and doubles as testing the chat, or by email if you would rather. Screenshots help enormously. Nothing is too small, and nothing you say will offend us: that is the entire point of you being here.
What is the Beta Tester patch?
A patch on your Battle Vest in the app, granted by hand to testers. Once the test is over nobody else can earn it, so it stays as a permanent mark that you were here first.
Can I leave the test?
Any time, just tell us. Uninstall it, or send us a message and we take you off the list.
